Day 1 – Arrival in Barcelona

Upon arrival, meet your driver and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to settle in and begin discovering Barcelona at your own pace, perhaps with a walk through the Gothic Quarter or along the Mediterranean waterfront.

Day 2 – Barcelona in One Day

Experience Barcelona’s essential highlights on a comprehensive small-group tour. Begin at Montjuïc, enjoying panoramic views across the city and harbour before exploring the narrow streets, Roman remains and medieval squares of the Gothic Quarter.

Continue through the waterfront and elegant Eixample district, passing the celebrated Modernist façades of Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. The day’s highlights are guided visits to two of Antoni Gaudí’s greatest creations: the extraordinary Sagrada Família and the colourful, imaginative landscapes of Park Güell.

Day 3 – Medieval Girona, Pals & Costa Brava

Travel beyond Barcelona to discover the history and coastal beauty of Catalonia. Explore Girona’s beautifully preserved Old Town, including its medieval streets, historic Jewish Quarter, colourful houses along the Onyar River and locations featured in Game of Thrones.

Continue to the hilltop village of Pals, where stone houses and ancient lanes overlook the Empordà countryside. The journey concludes in Calella de Palafrugell, a traditional fishing village whose whitewashed buildings, sheltered beaches and colourful boats capture the timeless character of the Costa Brava.

Day 4 – Montserrat: Landscape, History & Spirituality

Escape into the Catalan countryside for a half-day visit to Montserrat, a dramatic mountain sanctuary shaped by distinctive serrated peaks and sweeping natural scenery.

Visit the Benedictine Monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat and step inside its Basilica to see La Moreneta, the revered Black Madonna and patron saint of Catalonia. Learn about the sanctuary’s centuries-old history and spiritual significance while enjoying the tranquillity and spectacular views of the surrounding natural park.

Day 5 – Barcelona Side Streets Tapas & Wine Tour

Enjoy time at leisure before experiencing Barcelona through its culinary traditions on a small-group evening food tour. Walk through the Gothic Quarter, El Born and Barceloneta while discovering the stories, neighbourhood establishments and flavours that define Catalan cuisine.

Sample a generous selection of local specialities, which may include tomato bread, eggplant tortilla, Basque-style pintxos, the iconic bomba de Barceloneta and fideuà. Regional wines, vermouth and Catalan cava complement the experience, which concludes with a traditional pastry and a deeper appreciation of Barcelona’s food culture.

Day 6 – Departure

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Barcelona Airport or the railway station for your onward journey. Depart with lasting memories of Gaudí’s creativity, Catalonia’s medieval heritage, Mediterranean landscapes and vibrant culinary traditions.
