Day 1 – Arrival in São Miguel & Welcome Dinner

Day 2 – Festas do Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres
Enjoy a full day at leisure to experience the Festas do Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres, the island’s most iconic celebration. The festivities center around the image of Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres, housed at the Convent of Our Lady of Hope (Convento da Esperança). Admire the solemn procession, flowercarpeted streets, and cultural performances that fill the city with devotion and joy.
Day 3 – Festas do Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres
Continue to enjoy the Festas do Senhor Santo Cristo, with its blend of spirituality and celebration. From concerts and folk dances to parades and food stalls, the atmosphere of Ponta Delgada is both festive and moving—an unforgettable experience.
Day 4 – Furnas Full-Day Tour
Today’s journey begins in Vila Franca do Campo, once the island’s capital in the 15th century. Taste the famous Queijadas da Vila, a traditional pastry, before heading to the Furnas Lake, where volcanic fumaroles reveal the island’s geothermal energy. Enjoy a traditional Cozido das Furnas, cooked underground by volcanic steam— a true Azorean specialty. In the afternoon, visit Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, known for its waterfalls and water mills, followed by a stop at the Gorreana Tea Factory, where tea is still produced using 19th-century machinery. Enjoy a tasting while taking in views of the lush plantations and rugged coastline.
Day 5 – Tuesday, May 12
Embark on a full-day exploration of São Miguel’s most breathtaking landscapes. Begin with a visit to Quinta do Agricultor, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour and a homemade lunch with local flavors. Continue to Sete Cidades, one of the island’s most iconic sites. Stops include Pico do Carvão and Vista do Rei, offering the famous panoramic view over the twin lakes, and a visit to the charming village of Sete Cidades, nestled in the volcanic caldera.
Day 6 – Wednesday, May 13
Start your day with a half-day tour to Lagoa do Fogo, one of São Miguel’s natural treasures. Visit Ribeira Grande, where you’ll stroll through its charming streets and visit a local liqueur factory for a tasting of regional fruit liqueurs. Continue to Lagoa do Fogo, a breathtaking crater lake surrounded by untouched nature and panoramic views stretching to both coasts of the island. In the evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner, celebrating the week’s experiences and friendships formed along the journey.
Day 7 – Thursday, May 14
Our final morning in São Miguel will be at leisure, before making your way to the airport for the return flight home. We bid adeus to the beautiful island of São Miguel and hope that on the flight back, you reminisce about the wonderful memories and experiences from your Azorean adventure.
